Scholarship Information
The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas Scholarship Program reflects
a direct effort to recognize and reward those students who have demonstrated
consistent and outstanding academic achievement in high school and college
and tend to be a worthy student of good character.
For a student to be eligible to receive a scholarship award, they must be
enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution. Scholarship
applications are available each year on February 1. The deadline to return
the application is March 15, with notification being given to those
receiving awards by May 1.
A scholarship committee of local people who have knowledge of financial
aid and scholarship programs, study all the applications and make
recommendations to the Board for those qualified to receive scholarship
funds. Some scholarship areas covered are education, medical, music,
agribusiness, photography, and graphic arts, which can be used by recipients
from certain areas, cities, and states. An average of 30 to 35 different
colleges are attended each year.
